Interested in hosting a local event for the Smol community? We’ve compiled a list of recommended tried and true resources and a step-by-step process to make your hosting experience seamless and easy!

1. Decide on the basics.

Before you get deep into planning, confirm initial logistics and submit your event inquiry here: https://forms.gle/u1nZvKfoiUkw8mRf7.

Once you’ve submitted your application form, the team will be in touch to chat about your vision for the event and any support we can assist with, be it coordination or financial.

2. Create a Luma event page.

Luma has a number of features that allow you to cap your registration list, approve each guest who registers, ask questions upon registration, and make payments directly through the platform for ticket fees. The Smol team also appreciates you using Luma so we can streamline the event sign-up process using a single platform, so we can track attendees and events, and support you through this process!

How to create a Luma page:

  1. Sign up and create a Luma account (it’s free!): https://lu.ma/signup

  2. Create a new event.

    1. *Upload the Smol Social banner and create an event name [Smol Social: Location]. See Appendix for banner.*

  3. Upload event details including date/time, time zone and duration of the event.

  4. Include the key details of the event in your description. Follow this template as an example.

  5. Add your event questions to the list. See examples of some here.

  1. Add Smol team ([email protected] and [email protected]) as co-hosts to help us facilitate and keep tabs on attendance.

Additional: If you are including a ticket fee for your event, click Access at the top of the dashboard > select Paid > add in your Ticket Price > Change Currency if need be > and select Update Ticket Price.
