Overview
Treasure has launched its Layer-2 EVM blockchain powered by ZKsync and opened up a bridge for its native token, MAGIC, on December 11, 2024
As part of the launch of Treasure chain (treasure
), we have been working with exchanges to modify the already listed MAGIC token to support Treasure chain, making it the default network for MAGIC when purchasing, depositing, and offramping MAGIC tokens, instead of Arbitrum One (arb1
).

Background
- Treasure is the decentralized game console powered by MAGIC. MAGIC is available on both Arbitrum One and Ethereum L1, with the majority of liquidity on Arbitrum One with support in all major exchanges (see Exchange Availability).
- Treasure was originally launched in 2021 on Ethereum L1, Treasure and its native token bridged to Arbitrum One, where it has become one of the leading gaming ecosystems in crypto.
- In December 2023, it was announced that Treasure would launch its own Layer-2 blockchain with an ambitious litepaper and migrate its ecosystem of games, users, and protocols to the chain.
- Treasure was courted by major Layer-2 ecosystems like Arbitrum, ZKsync, Optimism, and SKALE to leverage their respective rollup stacks to build the Treasure chain. In September 2024, Treasure governance approved launching the Treasure L2 on ZKsync.
- Treasure chain’s mainnet launched on December 11, 2024.
The Role of MAGIC
- MAGIC is the native token of the Treasure ecosystem, its connected metaverse of games, and decentralized gaming infrastructure. Specifically, it is used as:
- The unit of account on Treasure’s native NFT marketplace and games across Treasure, as well as the base pair within Magicswap, Treasure’s AMM.
- The native gas and fee token for the Treasure chain.
- The native staking token for its data availability layer powered by EigenLayer’s EigenDA, initially for the core Treasure L2 and later its entire Infinity Chains network of L3 app-specific chains.
- The governance token for Treasure DAO governing its core chain, its network of Infinity Chains, and decentralized infrastructure across areas such as MAGIC’s core emissions policy, protocol upgrades, community-governed AMM (Magicswap), and more.
